In 2023, I began attempting to create fine art photographs at bus stops in Richmond Virginia. I wrote a lot, I took approximately 1,200 photos (of the 1,700 bus stops in the greater Richmond region, hence the "Greater Richmond Transportation Company") and I have done very little with them until now. This website is an attempt to get those photographs and writing into the world. This format seemed the most fitting method of bringing the [[The Rabbit in the Dark Forest|forest]] experience I was hoping to create when viewing and considering this body of work. ### Methods of exploring this project - If you want to start at the beginning, head to [[Stop Number 442]]. From there, you can explore the labyrinth of images and words and keywords. Enjoy! - If you want more of a high level view, head to [[The things I thought this project was about]]. - Or, if you want to see all (or most) of the random stuff I wrote about this project, visit [[My attempts to write about this project]]. - Or, perhaps you prefer to dive into [[Groupings of concepts]] and go from there. - Or perhaps you're interested in [[Chronological Developments]]. - You might also be interested in [[Works Cited]] if'ns you want to see some of the things that influenced this project. ### Most recent file added to [[Bus Infrastructure]]. For more files recently added, visit the [[Recently adjusted or amended files]]. This front page will probably be the most "living document" page on the entire site, though I will probably poke at things variously. I will try to remember to sign my name whenever I leave off somewhere. I should also feel it's important to say that no part of this project, text or image, has been generated by AI. Except for some generative fill to get rid of a few eensy teensy spots I didn't like in some of the pictures. But I've been doing that since 2010 in less elegant methods so that doesn't "count," right? — Nick Seitz, updated August 25, 2025.
